History of the creation of worlds & creation of Globe Sauter
Globe Sauter was born out of a thirst for discovery, a desire to recreate lost craftsmanship and push back the frontiers of cartography.
With the rigour of a scientist and the soul of an adventurer, the workshop has carried out research, tested techniques and breathed new life into a forgotten craft. Each globe is an invitation to explore, to understand the world from a new angle.

Opening up to the world
Exploration is not limited to cartography. Globe Sauter is taking part in the Spherographia project, a research initiative that questions the blanks on maps and the way globes represent our world.
Working with researchers at the University of Bordeaux, the studio creates globes that give a physical dimension to data that is often abstract. This adventure has taken Globe Sauter to French Guiana to present a globe on the indigenous presence, and to Quebec for a work on biodiversity.

B2B & collaboration

Exploration also means meeting other designers. Globe Sauter initiates artistic collaborations, such as with Jigé, who projected his unique visual universe onto a globe during a residency at the Besançon showroom. New perspectives where the object becomes a canvas for imaginary worlds other than geographical ones.
The workshop also produces bespoke pieces for institutions and collectors. From the Royal Château of Amboise, which houses a faithful recreation of 16th-century maps, to special commissions for prestigious brands, Globe Sauter transforms each project into a genuine exploration.
